The life of Christ was one that was one of sacrifice and love for all of mankind. His sacrifice was like sweet perfume to God. St. Paul is urging us to walk in the Love of Christ that encompasses us.
Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
