“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13
The Advent season calls us to trust in God’s promises and opens our hearts to His joy. As we lean into His love, the Holy Spirit fills us with a joy that overflows, blessing not only us but those around us.
Reflection
Advent reminds us that joy is not a fleeting emotion but a gift of the Spirit, rooted in God’s unchanging promises. Joy overflows when we trust in God, allowing His love to radiate through us. This week, reflect on how you can be a source of joy to others.
Mother Teresa once said, “Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls.” True joy is contagious, drawing others closer to God. It might be as simple as listening attentively to someone who feels unseen or sharing a kind word that encourages a weary heart.
Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of joy amidst trials: “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” By choosing joy, even in difficulty, we witness the hope we have in Christ to a watching world.
This week, consider how your actions can inspire joy. Perhaps a heartfelt note, a meal shared, or even a smile could make someone feel loved and seen. When we give joy away, it multiplies, reminding us of the deep well of hope found in Christ.
Question for Reflection
How can you intentionally share God’s joy with someone in your life this week?
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for filling our hearts with Your joy and peace. Help us to trust You more each day, that Your Spirit might overflow from us to bless others. May our words and actions reflect Your love and bring joy to those who need it most. Amen.
